Project Overview:
To remove the existing bridge deck and replace with a new concrete slab deck with new parapets and surfacing.
Scope of works:
Replacement of the existing bridge deck with reinforced concrete slab deck. The slab to be supported by longitudinal Omnia Plank permanent formwork, spanning longitudinally between newly cast reinforced concrete cill beams. The cill beams were cast above and doweled into the existing abutments, which were trimmed down to the required level. Parapet beams to either side of the deck were installed to accommodate N1 containment steel vehicular parapets. The carriageway over the structure was kerbed, with narrow concrete verges and surfacing works were undertaken from Cardiff Road to the south of the bridge
